pictures with words

painting pictures with words is something only true writers can do properly. some people paint muddy messy pictures, using to many words and drowning their subject, killing their point, strangling their message, beating their dead horse. get it? only in silly papers do you need to repeat what you have already said. let the reader connect the dots and come to the conclusion themselves, but this doesn't mean you should leave loose ends. writing is like standing on one finger; a lean here, a lean there...and you're flat on your face.although, sometimes its nice to push the envelope, to stretch your legs a little to dare to dace into the lions mouth, not knowing if you will live to dance out again...because that's what writing is, adventure. not knowing where you're going, breaking the rules just right so that it works out in the end, making that picture just muddy enough that it becomes expressive. just muddy enough that it becomes your own.
